The “Escogidos” is produced according to the “totalmente a mano” method, which is only used in Cuba to this day – as a completely hand-made long filler – and consists of carefully selected leaves from tobacco plantations in the San Juan y Martinez area, one of the best growing areas in the top region Vuelta Abajo belongs. The H. Upmann Royal Robusto LCDH impresses once it is lit, with its spicy and roasted notes which show themselves very present from the beginning. Hints of dried fruits (apricots, raisins) and honey gradually add sweetness to this very harmonious taste palette. The final is more full-bodied with touches of leather. Its combustion and its draw are very balanced and are accompanied by a beautiful solid white ash.
