The H.Upmann Magnum 54 is a classy medium bodied Petit Robusto, of 54 ring gauge, 4.7” (120 mm) long and comes in aluminum tubes in a box of 15 cigars.
Deep, rich, generous and with a strength greater than it might seem at first. One of the ten best Habanos of the size range.
In 2016 Cohiba celebrated its 50th Anniversary a new size (viltola) would be added to the La Linea 1492 range. The new cigar was christened the Medio Siglo.
These mild to medium bodied cigars have a very smooth and subtle flavor that has been its hallmark since its introduction in 1844. A great favorite among aficionados, the history of this brand began around 1840, when Herman Upmann, banker and almost fanatical cigar enthusiast, offered to open a branch of his family-owned bank in Havana Cuba.
This is the first time that the H. Upmann marca has been used for a Gran Reserva release, which is considered to be among Habanos S.A.’s top cigars produced. All of the tobacco has been aged for a minimum of five years, before rolling the cigars, and only released when there is enough tobacco to produce such a release as opposed to on a fixed schedule.
Like all the cigars of the Magnum line of H. Upmann, the cigars of the jar H. Upmann Magnum 56 are dressed with a double ring. The first one is the classic ring of the brand and the second one is stamped “Magnum 56”. Besides the minimum two-year aging of the wrapper and filler leaves, the only way to differentiate the two cigars is the presence, or not, of the third ring characteristic of the Edición Limitada.
